Makeup has intrigued Kelsey from a young age of fifteen years old. She obsessed over shows such as Americas Next Top Model and began learning more about makeup. Her friend's family owned a haunted hay ride and corn maze attraction in which she worked at, which began her love of special effects makeup. This followed along with experimenting with beauty makeups and fashion makeups as well. She began to think of herself as a makeup artist, even without having any professional experience behind her.
Her passions only grew and friends and family started to recognize her as a makeup artist. She started doing prom makeups and special events for friends and neighbors and seasonally would do special effects makeup for the haunted hayride and corn maze attraction.
Finally, after graduating from Brookdale Community College with her A.A. in Marketing, she decided to move to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to attend a makeup school. Kelsey is now a graduate of Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry, where she studied under some of the most talented makeup artists in the business. Kelsey successfully passed and received a diploma in Production Makeup Artistry.
After completeing the Production Program, she went back to Cosmix to study creature design, where she learned how to make, paint and apply prosthetics.
Kelsey worked in South Florida for three more years building her portfolio and freelancing. She worked on tv sets, photoshoots, celebrities, weddings, music videos, Play Boy, and more.
She moved to Austin, Texas in 2017 to continue her journey. Kelsey graduated from Ann Webb Skin Institute in summer of 2019 with her eyelash extension specialty license. She now has her own salon at Phenix Salon Suites in Southpark Meadows, Austin, Texas. Here she performs eyelash extensions and makeup services.
Kelsey is trained in clean beauty, glamour, bridal, airbrushing, body art, light hair styling, runway, period makeups, TV/ film, and special effects makeups.
She really loves working on photoshoot sets and seeing everyone come together as a team to produce beautiful works of art.
Between making someone feel beautiful and special, or making someone look gross and creepy, she loves the two worlds of beauty and special effects makeup and how vastly different they are. When it comes down to it, what she loves most is taking a blank canvas, that is a face or body, and creating art.
Kelsey has trained under celebrity makeup artists who have really refined, challeneged her, and polished her off to make her the best artist she can be. Her professionalism, creativity, versatility and skill set truly make her stand out. Having lived in the melting pot that is South Florida, she has worked with many different skin tones and has been trained to create custom foundations for each client so that they have a perfect match. Her versatility allows her to go anywhere from subtle, to glam, to outlandish, and everywhere in between!
